What is the Super Visa ?

Immigration and Refugee Canadian Citizenship (IRCC) continues to promote one of the three pillars as a Family Reunification Program. IRCC also continued this flow by introducing the Super visa program.

Super visa program is for parents and grandparents to visit their permanent resident or Canadian citizen children for up to 2 years at a time, provided applicable conditions are meet by visitor and hoster.

Below are the requirements for to be eligible for the Super Visa, applicant(s) must show that:

Applicant(s) is the parent or grandparent of permanent resident or Canadian citizen children/grandchildren.
Applicant’s host (child/grand child) must meet applicable LICO under this program

Applicant(s) must hold a legal letter from the host (child/grandchild) to support the overall: financial, accommodation, and more
Applicant(s) must have medical insurance coverage for at least 100,000$
Applicant(s) must be admissible to Canada
Applicant(s) must undergo medical and security checks
Applicant(s) must meet other applicable conditions
Applicant(s) must pay applicable fees
Applicant(s) must meet other applicable requirements.

Super visa is an authorization to parents/grandparents to stay in Canada for two years at each time with their permanent resident or Canadian Citizen children/grandchildren.

This program is important for all applicable individuals whether you are eligible or not eligible to be sponsored as a permanent resident(s) by their children/grandchildren under family sponsorship program. A party who is sponsoring and the party being sponsored must meet all requirements of this program.
