Students wishing to study in Canada receive a world-class education that is respectable across the globe. Education cost in Canada is lower than many other developed countries like the USA and some European countries. Engaging education system prepares millions of students every year to ace the professional career in the world market.

An international student may work on campus and/or work off campus while studying with a valid study permit or applicable work permit. A student who has completed at least eight months of full-time study may participate in post-graduate work permit program. A student may participate in various available federal and provincial programs to become a permanent resident of Canada.

A foreign national may study in Canada with a valid study permit if the duration of the program is more than six months or study without study permit if the duration of the program is six months or less at DLI (Designated Learning Institute). Some foreign nationals are exempt from study permit.

You must also have a valid visa to travel to Canada unless you are a citizen or permanent resident of visa exempt country who requires an electronic travel authorization (ETA).

An international student must have following, before applying for the authorization to study in Canada:

• An acceptance letter from the Designated Learning Institute in Canada
• A proof of available adequate funds to support the purpose of the study and living expense of student
• Valid travel documents
• Must go through Medical, background, and criminal check
• Other documents required based on the individual(s) profile

Only Legal Resident of China, India, the Philippines or Vietnam can apply for study permit through the SDS program. Citizen of these countries but living in any other country other than above mentioned four countries must apply through the regular program to obtain a study permit.

Applicant must have following to be eligible under the SDS program:

• A Copy of a Valid acceptance letter from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)
• A Proof of your Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $10,000
• A Proof of your upfront medical exam from an approved panel physician
• A proof of your 1-year tuition paid to the institution
• A proof of your adequate language ability with a minimum
  • IELTS 6.0 bands in each ability; or
  • TEF 7.0 Score
• Police clearance certificate
  • From the current country you are residing; and
  • From any country where you had resided for six months or more

An international student must have a valid study permit for their stay as a student in Canada. If your study permit is expiring earlier than the completion of your study or expiring earlier than your next status, then you must apply for an Extension of Study Permit at least 30 days before the expiry of your current study permit.

Applicant must have following before applying for the authorization to stay in Canada as a student:

A proof of your enrollment at DLI institution as a full-time student or an enrollment letter to prove that you just finished your study and waiting for your results.

You must prove that you had paid the applicable fees where applicable.
