Sponsorship for your Child and Relatives to Canada

Sponsorship for your child, brother, sister, close relative is achievable through Universe to Canada Immigration.

Adopted Child Sponsorship in Canada

Under this program, a Canadian Citizen can sponsor a child who has been adopted outside Canada. Sponsor individual and sponsored child must meet eligibility requirements under this program.

 

Requirements:

Sponsor

  • Must be at least 18 years old Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.
  • The sponsor must prove to provide for the basic needs of him/herself and sponsored individual(s) along with other financial needs.
  • The sponsor person must not be in prison, under a removal order if he/she is PR and charged with a criminal offense for pardon is not granted and must not charge with a sexual offense
  • The sponsor must sign an undertaking (a promise to minister by the sponsor to provide for the basics need to sponsor), The undertaking may range up to 20 years depending on the situation.
  • The sponsor may have to comply with other requirements.

 

 

The sponsor cannot act as a sponsor if

 

  • Sponsor has outstanding immigration loan amount, did not pay a performance bond, did not back any family support payments and other applicable aspects.
  • Sponsor failed to obligate previous undertaking.
  • Sponsor is under removal order, in jail, in penitentiary.
  • Sponsor receive social assistance from government other than the reason of disability.
  • Sponsor has filed bankruptcy and has not been discharged yet.
  • Sponsor individual sponsored the previous partner in last three immediate years.
  • Sponsor individual was previously sponsored as a spouse in the last five years.
  • Sponsor individual was involved in the sexual offense, caused or attempted harm to a relative.
  • Sponsor’s current application of sponsoring spouse/partner is in process.

 

 

Sponsored:

  • Must prove the genuine relationship between child/relatives and sponsor. If the child was adopted, the process must meet adoption process established in Canada.
  • Sponsored must be admissible to Canada including based on medical and criminality.
  • The sponsored child may have to meet other eligibility requirements under this program.

 

Process:

Sponsorship under this program is a two steps process.

  • First, the sponsor must apply to become an approved sponsor to apply under this program.
  • Second, the sponsor must apply for permanent residence on behalf of an adopted child

Other Relatives Sponsorship in Canada

Under this program sponsor may able to sponsor relative(s), but both sponsor person and sponsored individual(s) must meet specific requirements:

 

Program requirements:

  • The sponsor must be at least 18 years old Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.
  • The sponsor must prove to provide for the basic needs of him/herself and sponsored individual(s) including all financial support.
  • The sponsor must meet income guidelines.
  • Canadian Citizen living abroad may be able to sponsor relative(s) but must be present in Canada on arrival of the sponsored individual(s); Permanent resident must be living inside Canada to sponsor relative under this program.
  • The sponsor person must not be in prison, under a removal order if he/she is PR and charged with a criminal offense for pardon is not granted and must not charge with a sexual
  • The sponsor must sign an undertaking (a promise to minister by the sponsor to provide for the basics need to sponsor), The undertaking duration may range up to 20 years for other relative depending on sponsored relative’s age and relation with sponsor individual.
  • The sponsor must meet any other applicable eligibility requirements.

 

The sponsor cannot act as a sponsor if

Sponsored individual(s) must meet one of two below-mentioned criteria to be sponsored by sponsor individual.

 

Option 1: Sponsor may sponsor close relatives if meet below listed conditions:

  • Under this category sponsored must be orphaned individual under 18 years of age with no spouse, or common-law partner, or conjugal partner.
  • Sponsored individual must be related to sponsor by blood or adoption such as brother-sister, nephew-niece, grandchild
  • Sponsored must be admissible to Canada including based on medical and criminality.

 

Option 2: Sponsor may sponsor one relative if meet below listed conditions:

  • Under this category sponsor can sponsor one relative of any age if below-listed requirements are met:
  • Sponsor does not have any living relative such as Spouse or Common-law Partner or Conjugal partner, Son or Daughter, Sister or brother, Parents or Grandparents, Uncle or Aunt, Nephew or Niece
  • Sponsor does not have any of the above-mentioned relatives as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.
  • Sponsored must be admissible to Canada including based on medical and criminality.

 

Process:

Sponsorship under this program is a two steps process.

  • First, the sponsor must apply to become an approved sponsor to apply under this program.
  • Second, sponsored relative(s) must apply for permanent residence at the same time.
