What is the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Scheme

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Details
Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program was established in 2017 between the federal government and four Atlantic provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island) with a purpose to immigrate over 7000 applicants with their family to full fill the skilled worker shortage and help in developing economy of Canada by 2020 under this program.

This is an employer-driven program, under this program employer from above mentioned Atlantic provinces can hire a skilled foreign worker either from overseas or in Canada (a skilled worker or international student).
Both designated employer and employee must meet eligibility requirements under this program. Then employee can immigrate in Canada to live and work permanently.

 

Purpose of this program:

To welcome additional newcomers to the Atlantic four provinces with the help of designated employers. This program is focused on many areas as innovation, clean growth, and weather, trade, and investment, overall infrastructure and immigration.

 

Program:

Under this project, there are three programs

Three programs under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Project

1. Atlantic High Skilled Worker Program:

Applicant must meet below-listed criteria to be eligible under this program:

 

  • Job offer – from a Designated employer must be in NOC O, A, B, C; full time, intermediate
  • Job Experience – One year in the occupation job related
  • Education – At least High school or ECA required for foreign education
  • Language – Level 4 CLB in English or French
  • Provincial Endorsement – A letter of endorsement

 

2. Atlantic Intermediate Skilled Worker Program:

Applicant must meet below-listed criteria to be eligible under this program:

 

  • Job offer – from a Designated employer must in NOC O, A, B; full time, 1-year contract
  • Job Experience – One year to occupation job related
  • Education – At least High school or ECA required for foreign education
  • Language – Level 4 CLB in English or French
  • Provincial Endorsement – A letter of endorsement

3. Atlantic International Graduate Program:

Applicant must meet below-listed criteria to be eligible under this program:

 

  • Job offer – from a Designated employer must in NOC O, A, B, C; full time, intermediate
  • Job Experience – Not Applicable
  • Education – At least 2 year of post-secondary education from a publicly-funded institution in an Atlantic province within the last 12 months of applying under this program
  • Residence –Applicant must have lived in an Atlantic province for at least 16 months in the 2 years before getting your post-secondary education
  • Language – Level 4 CLB in English or French
  • Provincial Endorsement – A letter of endorsement

 

Process:

1. Be eligible under one of the three programs under this project
2. Applicant must find a job offer from a designated employer
3. Applicant must accept a job offer from a designated employer
4. Applicant must have a settlement plan for the entire family
5. Get endorsement done from the province by the employer and receive a letter of endorsement
6. Submit PR application to IRCC
7. Optional: apply for temporary work permit application while PR application is in process. To apply this, a candidate needs a job offer, a letter from the province, a commitment letter to apply PR within 90 days of the temporary resident application.
