Federal Skilled Worker Program is specifically designed for those individuals who have adaptive capacity to perform skilled jobs in Canada. A skilled worker at designated levels (Managerial, Professional, Technical) plays a vital role in the overall development of Canada.

Minimum Requirements for Federal Skilled Worker Scheme

  • Work Experience – Applicant must have at least 1 year (1560 hours total/30 hours weekly) continuous, paid (no volunteer work and unpaid internships don’t count), in the same type of job as your primary NOC O, A, B, within last 10 years
  • Full Time (30 hours weekly for 12 months at 1 Job = Part Time (15 hours weekly for 24 months)
  • Full Time at more than 1 job with 30 hours weekly for 12 months = 1560 hours
  • Language – Applicant must meet the Language ability of CLB level 7 in all four modules with approved language test (English: CELPIP, IELTS; French:TEF)
  • Education – Applicant must provide proof of the education if it is completed in Canada or provide an ECA report from an approved agency if education is done outside Canada.
  • Financial – Applicant must ensure the availability of adequate funds to support your family and yourself; however, funds are not required if you are currently working or have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer.

If an applicant meets all the minimum requirements as listed above, Applicant must also qualify based on the selected areas: age, education, work experience, whether candidate has a valid job offer, Language (English and/or French Skills), Adaptability (how well candidate and/or candidate’s family likely to settle here).

 

The application can achieve a maximum 100 points based on selection factors; however, current pass point is 67. Maximum points per each selection factor:

  • Age – 12 points
  • Education – 25 points
  • Work Experience – 15 points
  • Valid Job Offer – 10 Points
  • Language – 28 Points
  • Adaptability – 10 Points

 

  • Applicant must be admissible to Canada.
  • Applicant must plan to leave outside the province of Quebec, conditions apply.
